August 2024 feature films and series EN, FI CS
We created Czech subtitles for the new Finnish documentary by Virpi Suutari, Once Upon a Time in a Forest, which follows a group of young activists fighting to save the last remnants of old Finnish forests. We delivered the subtitles in two formats, one for Czech cinema distribution and one for TV broadcasting. We also subtitled the trailer and provided technical and linguistic editing of the English subtitles.

We have been working on various draft versions of the documentary film Soap Bubbles, which follows the story of the Schicht family, founders of a company that came up with the legendary Stag Soap. We have been involved since the rough cut, making subtitles by ear, timing existing translations, retiming and doing conformance works, and hardsubbing. The film has Czech, German, English and Portuguese dialogues. We have supplied translations into Czech and English.

We supplied Czech subtitles in SRT and EBU STL for two versions of the Slovak documentary film Birdhill, which chronicles the insensitive real estate development in the green space surrounding the capital city of Bratislava, and the related landscape change.

Our company created Czech subtitles for the new film by Finnish director M. Tervo, The Missile. The English template was used as a basis for the translation. We also finalized the timing of the English subtitles and spotted the subtitles for the trailers. The film will be released in Czech cinemas in March 2025.

For the Czech and Italian premiere of the documentary Fioretta, in which Randy Shoenberg, obsessed with genealogy, searches for his ancestors, we created Czech and Italian subtitles from an English template.

As every year, we cooperated with the Days of European Film festival. At the last minute, we were responsible for adjusting the timing of the subtitles, temporizing missing subtitles and converting the subtitles to the correct format for four feature-length films: Four Souls of Coyote, Omar The Strawberry, A Tiger in Paradise, and They Shot the Piano Player.
